SEPULTURA Guitarist: It Was 'Awesome' To Play Mexico With OBITUARY And SADUS
May 8, 2007SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser has issued the following update:
"Sunday, May 6: We played at Torreon [Mexico] with OBITUARY and SADUS, [and] it was awesome!. This was the same package we [toured the U.S. with] in '91, when we toured America for the second time. They showed a lot of energy and power, playing many classics and new songs as well. It's good to see old friends again! Unfortunately, we didn't have a chance to jam together; all the set times were off, everything late....oh well, next time.
"Yesterday we played here for the first time and was great too, specially because of the 5 de Mayo national holyday. Here happens the biggest fair in the country, the Feria de San Marcos, people from all over the country visit the city to celebrate! VIVA MEXICO, GRACIAS MEXICO!"
SEPULTURA has posted two new video clips on their YouTube page. Check out soundcheck footage, shot at the Abril Pro Rock festival in Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil on April 14, 2007, and a performance clip of "Ostia", filmed in Buenos Aires on January 13, 2007.
As previously reported, a rare video clip of SEPULTURA and the Brazilian kings of hardcore RATOS DE PORÃO performing a cover of RAMONES' "I'm Not Jesus" on the Brazilian TV show "TVMix" in 1990 has been posted online at this location.
SEPULTURA recently finished filming the second video from their "Dante XXI" album, for the song "Ostia". The clip was shot on March 3 at a studio in São Paulo prior to the band's departure for their European tour. During the following week, the video crew and the main actor shot the outdoor scenes in downtown São Paulo. The script, which adapts the story from the book "The Divine Comedy" to the modern days, was directed by Geraldo Moraes.
Check out pictures from the video shoot at this location.
SEPULTURA completed its first North American tour in nearly four years in December. Support at the shows came from SWORN ENEMY, DIECAST and SUICIDE SILENCE. The trek marked the band's debut U.S. appearance with their new drummer, Jean Dolabella (ex-UDORA),who replaced founding member Igor Cavalera in June. Check out several video clips from the tour at YouTube.com.
